Keep the Channel Open

3 Feb

I’ve been looking through the Music Monday archives at Black Eiffel, looking for new discoveries. It lead me to this amazing, inspiring thought:

I aim to be brave and honest in whatever it is I choose to do.
My goal is to express myself truthfully and honestly.
I love collaborating with different musicians and artists.
I am always seeking to discover new ways and to surprise myself.
Music is a healing force in my life.
It has led me to travel, tour distant places and to experience new cultures.
I discovered sides in myself which I didn’t know exist.
I love the creative process of hearing a song come to life.
Music is mystical and mysterious.
I have so much to learn and see.
It´s a never ending process, and the journey itself is what captivates me.

I am deeply moved and inspired by this quote:

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others”
