A New Hope

Finally, some possible relief for the thousands of sea turtle eggs being laid all along the Gulf coast this summer. Read about the massive recovery effort here:

It’s the largest removal of sea turtle eggs, and so far scientists aren’t sure it will be successful. It’s worth a try, though, as the alternative is losing an entire generation of baby sea turtles to the disastrous oil spill. I hope this relief effort helps the turtle populations – they definitely needs all the help they can get! I know biologists are really on their last leg here, moving all these nests with no guarantee. Let’s hope we have found an answer to the most devastating wildlife tragedy of this disaster!
