Harry Potter Makes Me Cry – In a Good Way

31 Jul

I have spent the last four nights watching all five of the Harry Potter movies back-to-back.

Several weeks ago, I read all seven of the books back-to-back.

Today, I have spent a good bit of time online looking up the trailer and pictures for the sixth movie, due out in late fall. Now I’m just obsessed and aching for more.

I’m pretty much an emotional wreck right now. I can’t do anything to express my genuine, undying love for all things HP except to weep. The outpouring of love from my heart is just too great. No words can express it. I truly, truly love it.

I also discovered this morning that Amazon is releasing The Tales of Beedle the Bard in December. I’m so pumped, I can hardly stand it. I already sent my mom the link and told her we were ordering it.

I have got to find something else to do with my time. Thinking about this too much is going to drive me insane. I want so badly for it all to be real. I want my Hogwarts letter. I want to know that world is actually real.

I can’t stand it.

Happy Birthday Harry!

Alternate Careers

Jobs I would want if I wasn’t going into Art Therapy:

Costume or set designer for movies
Working for InStyle magazine
Fashion designer
Travel guide, preferably for Discovery Channel or something

IMDb Top 250

29 Jul

I just noticed that The Dark Knight has overtaken The Godfather as the #1 movie on IMDb’s Top 250 Films list. What an achievement. The Godfather has been at the top ever since I discovered IMDb five years ago. And to top that off, The Shawshank Redemption has pushed The Godfather down to #3! I couldn’t believe that it got pushed down two whole spots. It’s amazing how quickly The Dark Knight rose to the top, too. I mean, I saw it, and it was amazing. But I honestly didn’t expect it to be at the very top. Wow.

Little Old Lady Hair

29 Jul

I have never quiet understood why little old ladies cover up their hair with those little plastic rain hats or scarves. Everyone knows their hair is stiff as a board from all that hairspray they get at the beauty shop. Not the hair salon. The beauty shop. Little Old Lady Hair is always short, always permed, always hard. There’s no way it’s going to move in the wind or rain. If anything, it should be the rest of us with normal, movable hair that insist on going outside only when our hair is fully protected from the wind or rain. Little Old Lady Hair doesn’t need any more protection that it already gets at the beauty shop.

Bloggarrhea

28 Jul

Bloggarrhea: A condition where a person posts rambling, long, or frequent entries in their blog.

I really hope I’m not guilty of this, although I frequently think I am. Anyway, this is without a doubt my new favorite disease. And by favorite, I mean most annoying.

Also, I really, really love when people complain about things that they are most guilty of, but are WAY too blind to see it……..

Addicted to Online Shopping

25 Jul

I have really got to get my online shopping habit under control. I don’t think I’m at a serious, non-recovery point yet, but if I don’t watch out there could be some serious credit card debt down the line. Most of what I buy online is used books and movies from Amazon. I’m very careful about buying used ones, and getting free shipping, so I actually save a lot of money compared to what I could be spending. The problem is that I love to read, and I love movies, so I’m always on the lookout for great deals on the ones I want. I think my book list has around 100 items on it right now, which will take years to get through. That means years of online shopping to come.

Oh money, I hate you.
